Objectives

  1. To support the DIET in building teachers’ capacities to create and curate multilevel, multi-modal digital resources in Urdu
  2. To enable teachers to use inclusive and innovative approaches to meaningfully integrate these resources as part of their classroom practice
  3. To strengthen Urdu teachers' abilities to use contextual digital resources for addressing the language learning needs of children in their classroom
  4. To help teachers familiarise themselves with the use of LibreOffice Calc (spreadsheets) for streamlining their administrative tasks and processes.

Session 2 10:45 to 11:15 AM Gcompris- Getting familiarized with using the mouse These are the list of some activities in GCompris which helps in getting familiarized of the mouse usage such as click, double click and drag and drop.

Session 3 11:30 - 12:15 AM Tux typing- Application Practice of the letters and words from the GCompris (and lesson from the Tux typing

Lunch (1:00 to 1:45)
Session 6 1:45 - 2:15PM Exploring Story Resources Teachers will be given time to go through the various story resources (online/ offline); Troubleshooting if need be
Session 7 2:15 to 4:00PM Hands-on session

Each group will work on one story: Discussion on how the story can be used in their classroom teaching; Mapping stories to their syllabus/ themes: Discussion on how the story can be used in their classroom teaching; Mapping stories to their syllabus/ themes; Connecting to LOs: Creating supplementary activities for stories A simple guide to 'Stories as Pedagogy'
Tea break (4:00 to 4:15PM)
Session 8 4:15 to 5:00 PM Way forward Consolidation of themes and suggestions for integration into classroom teaching; Inputs from teachers, Feedback form. Feedback form for participants

  5. All teachers must visit National Book Trust and buy kilograms of story books 🙂 for their school libraries
