Objective
- Finding squares of a number by repeated multiplication.
- Identifying the same number of objects in different group.
- Recognizing as the number increases the square also increases.
Estimated time
40 min
Materials:
barbie dolls(any other object),sheet,pencil.
Prerequisites/Instructions
- The children should be familiar with counting of objects.
- They should know the multiplication/product of numbers.
- The children finds that by multiplying the number with the same number gives a perfect square.
process
- Initially the teacher gives two boxes to two individual children and tells to count the number of objects
- Each individually starts to count the number of objects
- The child comes with their answers by counting the objects
- Now the teacher ask to check whether they have equal number of objects.
- The teacher tells to write these numbers in the form of repeated multiplication form and find its product
- The product obtained will be the square of the number.
Hence this activity can be done with different objects with different group of students.
