Focus areas for the Hindi District Cascade Workshops

The focus of this year's Hindi STF District workshops will be to:

  1. Build ICT skills for teachers
  2. Access the Karnataka Open Educational Resources and Contribute to KOER
  3. Discuss second language learning aims, challenges and approaches. Access resources in Hindi and read and discuss these

DIET Nodal Officer / MRP responsibilities

  1. DIET Nodal Officer to enter Batch information on Day 1 of workshop. This information can be viewed on here
  2. Please email koer@karnatakaeducation.org.in for support during training. Or call Sunil (080 26654134)
  3. Please read the DSERT guidelines and ensure ICT Lab is in full working condition
  4. Since STF requires Internet, ensure Internet availability, with minimum 8 Mbps connection
  5. Enough computers to allow 1:1 computer:teacher ratio.
  6. The training labs should have the NEW Ubuntu version 14.04 installed on them see installation process here. This has software for Kannada and Hindi interface.
  7. To allow for adequate practice, the batch size should be kept to 20-25 based on number of working computers.
  8. During the workshop, the MRPs must transact the agenda with any changes as needed. The following activities must be completed:
    1. Practising sending and receiving emails
    2. Creation of gmail IDs for all teachers without email ids.

    4. Participants must see the website of the groups Hindi STF group.
    5. Sharing web links and other digital resources to the forum
    6. Familiarization with the KOER resource website and identifying resources to be added
    7. Submission of one activity to KOER through Contribute button
    8. Updating district training details on the district pages Pages Table. This includes
      1. Day wise workshop report
      2. Uploading workshop photographs on Google photos
      3. On Day 5,Participant Feedback Form and ICT Use form is to be filled by participants. This is a compulsory activity
