Objectives

  1. To support the DIET in building teachers’ capacities to create and curate multilevel, multi-modal digital resources in Urdu
  2. To enable teachers to use inclusive and innovative approaches to meaningfully integrate these resources as part of their classroom practice
  3. To strengthen Urdu teachers' abilities to use contextual digital resources for addressing the language learning needs of children in their classroom
  4. To help teachers familiarize themselves with the use of LibreOffice suite for facilitating their academic and administrative tasks and processes.

Session 3 11:30 to 12:00 PM Tux typing/ GCompris Practice of the letters and words from the GCompris (Simple letters and falling words), lesson from the Tux typing
Session 4 12:00 to 1:00PM Urdu Typing Getting familiarised with the Urdu keyboard and letters - using simple words/ phrases as examples Handout on Urdu typing
Lunch (1:00 to 1:45 PM)
Session 4 1:45 to 2:30 PM Continuation of Urdu Typing Getting familiar with special keys and words or phrases using keys. Handout on Urdu typing

Session 6 3:00 to 3:45 PM Translating English story to Urdu story using Story books Each group will work on one story: Teachers are given a English story book and - have each group translate the story and type it in Urdu Story Printouts/Handouts
