Objectives

  1. Introducing Information & Communication Technologies (ICT) to the Student-teachers / ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ-ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರಿಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂವಹನ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನಗಳ (ICT) ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸುವುದು
  2. Introducing student-teachers to different FOSS tools and OER resources to create learning/classroom resources / ತರಗತಿಯ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲಗಳನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಲು ವಿವಿಧ FOSS ಪರಿಕರಗಳು ಮತ್ತು OER ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲಗಳಿಗೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ-ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರನ್ನು ಪರಿಚಯಿಸುವುದು.
  3. Introducing students-teachers to FOSS based audio-visual creation tools to create learning resources / ಕಲಿಕೆಯ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲಗಳನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಲು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು-ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರನ್ನು FOSS ಆಧಾರಿತ ಆಡಿಯೋ-ದೃಶ್ಯ ರಚನೆ ಸಾಧನಗಳಿಗೆ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸುವುದು
  4. Build the computer literacy skills for student-teachers / ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ-ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರಿಗೆ ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟರ್ ಸಾಕ್ಷರತಾ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಮಾಡುವುದು

  • Understanding OER role in teaching and learning
  • Connect and learn through internet
  • Access and evaluate resources on the web
  • Downloading resources related the the topic chosen
  • Organize resources to create a PDL
LUNCH

Hands-on

  • Continuing accessing/downloading resources handson session…..
  • Using browser features to organize/access resources more effectively/easily
  • Using browser add-ons to restrict adds, data privacy and using shortcuts
  • Understand importance of OER in teaching-learning

Getting comfortable with computer by using FOSS tools like:-
  • Tuxpaint
  • Tuxmath
  • Pluma
  • Participants get familiar with basic computer operations and getting familiar with keyboard and mouse
DAY 2
ICT for creating and learning – concept map Presentation and

Hands-on

  • Creating concept map for the chosen topic
  • Hyper-linking (local & web) resources to the concept map
  • Using note window, internal connectors to enrich your concept map
  • Insert images and different symbols to make more attractive
  • Use different export option to export your concept map as mm, odt, pdf, png
  • Participants explore and create an overview of chosen topic, add notes, images and web links to enrich the created mind map
  • Participants make different versions of the map created
LUNCH
ICT for creating and learning – text resources Presentation and

Hands-on

  • Exploring text editor and and FOSS Office suite to create text resources
  • Adding information to your topic and Using text formatting features
  • By using local languages inputs making resources in bilingual
  • Adding numbers and bullets, hyper-links, tables, Images, header/footers
  • Using advance LO features like ToC, image format, auto correct, auto-fill.
  • Saving created document in different formats - odt, doc and pdf
  • Use text editor for documentation
  • Format document with features available in the editor
  • Create a detailed text document for the chosen topic by inserting details in the form of tables, images and charts
  • Participants exploring multilingual input in the same document
Handson on both FF and ODT Hands-on
  • Students have to complete both concept map and the text document by adding all the required information and the resources and complete
  • Completed concept map and text document
DAY 3
ICT for creating and learning Presentation and

Hands-on

  • Creating slide presentation resources
  • Inserting slides, text box to add text information
  • Adding shapes and table to make you slides more attractive
  • Use Text and Images formatting features
  • Adding animation and transition for slides and objects
  • Export and saving slides in different formats – odp, pdf, png
  • Participants create slide presentation by all the features using
Break
ICT for generic resource creation – Videos (Part 1) Presentation and

Hands-on

  • Making a video resources on the chosen topic using screen-casting tool
  • Adding script for the video created
  • Adding multiple resource types into a video
  • Refine created/OER videos combining multiple resources
  • Participants create a video using resources collected and add a script to complete the video.
  • Participants refine the video created by combining text, audio, video and animations
LUNCH
ICT for generic resource creation – Videos (Part 2) Presentation and

Hands-on

  • Using FOSS video editing tool to create video resources
  • Getting familiar with tool interface
  • Importing and adding resources to the project/tracks
  • Using basic features to combing multiple resources – import, copy, move
  • Adding title and subtitle for the video
  • Exporting video in different formats
  • Participants will create videos using all the resources which they have accessed from web and created on day 2.
  • Introducing participants to FOSS based video editing tool
DAY 4
Cyber security Presentation and discussions
Using Ubuntu tools Presentation and Hands-on
  • Using pdf reading and shuffler tools to use pdf resources for learning
  • Arranging pdf files and exporting pages
  • Using Image viewer to convert images formats
  • Effective Use of generic FOSS tools for self learning and editing pdf files
Lunch break
Google drive/form Presentation and Hands-on
  • Working with cloud storage platforms to store, share files
  • Creating digital assessment resources and accessing it easily to analyse
  • Use Google drive to create other kind of resources like odt, ods and odp
  • Sharing files with required permission
  • Getting familiar with cloud storage platforms and storing, accessing resources through different devices
Mobile apps Presentation and Hands-on
  • Accessing google drive through phones
  • Setting up mobile with add blockers
  • Using some basic mobile and whats app settings to manage storage
